6 Weeks

Hello my little lentil. Today I am 6 weeks pregnant and I love reading the weekly updates from Baby Center. The most entertaining part is the type of food that best describes the size of the baby. I am starting to feel more nauseous these days so I'm sure the throwing up will be here soon : ( As much as I don't enjoy all the little "symptoms" of pregnancy, it is nice to be reassured that the baby is growing inside me. I am trying to really soak it all in and enjoy this pregnancy as I know it will be my last. The wait until my first appointment is killing me! I am so excited to see my little lentil and to see the heart beating on June 15th.

I'm Pregnant!

It happened a little sooner than we had expected, but we are very excited to be expecting baby #3! Life is about to get even more exciting and crazier. I found out on Friday right before we left for our trip to Scottsdale. I really couldn't believe the test was positive and I went back in the bathroom to look at it like ten times because I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I have taken about 100 pregnancy tests in the past 5 years and I am always convinced I am pregnant when I am not. I was shocked!

I wanted to tell Dave in a fun way since for the last two pregnancies he was with me when I took the tests. I had my babysitter that morning so I could run errands and I asked Dave if I could bring him a coffee since I would be running errands near him (wink, wink). I went to Starbucks and picked up his coffee order and a pastry to put in a bag. I placed the pregnancy test in the bag too, and when I arrived I asked him to look inside for the treat I brought him. He first say the croissant and was excited about that, and then I told him to look again for something else. He was thrilled! Dave got a huge smile on his face and gave me a big hug.  I wish I would have taken pictures in his office, but I did get a picture of the surprise.

It was so hard to keep the news from the kids, but I wanted Dave to be there too. He was at a golf tournament followed by a dinner and awards ceremony and he wasn't going to be home until 9, but got home earlier. I insisted that we gather the kids to tell them since they were in their beds but not asleep yet. Dave told them the news....

This is Carson saying "You're Pregnant!"

We always know that Carson is excited when he puts his hand in his mouth. Brooke's face was priceless. She has been asking for a baby or a baby sister, but she just stared at us like this as if she was thinking "What is about to happen to me?!"

The first belly kiss for our baby : )
